Why did I not try this earlier?!

2015-04-01 08.54.34How cool is amigurumi?! 😀

Have you tried it?  I decided to try last night and the moment I started I knew I wouldn’t be able to stop.  I found these amazing videos (below) with step-by-step instructions by Sharon Ojala.  Oh my goodness!!!!  I kept going and going until I had my first duckling all attached and ready for play 😀  Thank you, Sharon!!!  What an awesome YouTube channel you have.  I am so happy I found it because I will be making more of these toys for my kids.

When my younger (1.5 y.o.) saw the duck in morning, he said: “Gushh” (which in Bulgarian means “cuddle”) and started kissing it and saying “awwwwww”  “awwwww”.  It was a very precious moment. 🙂

      • I want to design my own, but I haven’t made time for the sort of experimentation it would take. When I sit down to knit, I’d rather not think… 🙂

      • I am the same way. I admire people who write patterns. I want to see the end result too quickly to be able to slow down and have the patience to test things. 🙂

  1. Very cute.
I made a few in the summer, owls and beavers, and my kids loved them. As soon as I realized I was going to need to make 5 of everything (so that each child could have one) I decided to let the project go. I also made little hats & scarves for them.

    • Aww how cute! Multiplying everything by 5 is challenging 😀 I can never make them fast enough 😀 Seeing how much the kids love them, makes you want to crochet all of them at once so they can play right away 😀

  2. How adorable! I love small projects like this for when I’m watching TV before bed. Only I don’t have kids yet so I’m not sure what to do with all my little animals!

  3. Thanks for the links, I have always wanted to try amigurumi but with crochet I feel I have two left hands. I will give it a tey, your duck is really kawai (cute in Japanese).

    • Aww thank you! I learned a new word 😀 Thank you for your kawai words 😀
Give it a try. You will be surprised. I never thought I’d have the patience to do it but once you start, there’s no stopping LOL The instructions in this video are really good. Very clear and easy to follow. Have fun! 🙂

  4. Very cute. And I share your love of amigurumi as well. A friend bought me a book of little animals a few years ago and I was hooked (pun intended) lol. Keep going it’s lots of fun.
