May is here

Unbelievable!  Where did April go?! Crazy! 😀

So I officially joined the Metro Women’s Soccer League as a competitive soccer player over 30 😀  And I am also now a member of a team.  Whoohoo!  My super cool neighbour is a member of that team and she asked me if I wanted to join too.  Of course I said “yes” right away.  I had my first competitive game on Thursday last week.  So so cool!  I have so much to learn but the experience is amazing.

So today was supposed to be my second game with the team, however, I couldn’t play.  The other day I took the kids to the park and I pushed them on the swings… nothing extraordinary really…. We came back home and my back, shoulder and whole arm were in pain.  I couldn’t lift my arm it was so painful.  I could feel that there was a knot on my upper back and I knew that probably I pulled something when we were in the park.  I didn’t have any other explanation.  I don’t have to describe the disappointment I felt.  I knew I wouldn’t be able to play 😦  Six Tylenols later… I am still in pain and don’t know what else to do.  I spoke to a friend of mine who is a registered massage therapist and her opinion was to book a massage but to also kind of wait it out.  Keep taking the Tylenol, etc.  😦

So I can run 15k, do bootcamps, play a whole 90-min soccer game and other than the usual soreness… nothing.  I push my kids on the swings and bam!  I’m out of commission for a third day now 😦  How does that happen?!

To top if off, I can’t even knit!  The yarn and needles feel like they are 20 lbs heavy on my right arm. 😦  It hurts to crochet too.  😦

Ok I’m done complaining 😀  On the bright side, I have been going to bed on time because I can’t knit until 2 am and it feel like i am catching up on my sleep which makes a huge difference these days. 🙂

  1. Oh no! At least, like you say, you’re getting to catch up on your sleep… I’m sure with two toddlers at home that doesn’t happen often! Hope you’re feeling better soon. 🙂
