Hello fellow knitters and crocheters,
Here’s a question for you… what would you add to your yarn and needles to make a happy place? 🙂
Mine would be many things of course but I think a cup of coffee, a podcast/audio book, favourite music, good company….
What’s your magic ingredient? 😀
Either a cup of tea or glass of wine, depending on time of day. And either Netflix or music.
Great choices 🙂
Japanese comedy show on YouTube!!!
I’ll have to check this out 🙂
Cup of nice hit tea and or music!
Sounds great.
Hot*
A comfy chair next to a window for good light !
Good thinking! Excellent
A comfy chair, ,good lighting, cup of hot tea and an audiobook.
Perfect!
Exactly what I was going to say! 🙂
😀
My Kindle Fire and a cup of coffee!
Sweet!
A big comfy armchair and good lighting.
Nice. Very good point
Good light, a sleepy cat on my lap, and scissors within arms reach.
Good useful points.
My cat is usually nearby too!
Nice and cuddly 🙂
Coca Cola!
😀 Sweet!
A warm and fluffy cat (named Calcifer ❤ ) of course! Gotta have someone keeping an eye (or paw) on that yarn you know! 🙂
Very cosy 🙂
An audiobook.
Good choice.
An interesting new pattern to try.
Great idea
Good idea
Second breakfast (coffee and fresh pastry), feet up on the coffee table. Children at school. A sleeping and softly snoring baby on my chest… although this does not work with double pointed needles… they get too near his head and I actually developed back pain from trying to knit gloves holding the needles far away from said baby 🙂 But circular needles work perfectly.
Thanks for that post. It is nice to stop and think about why I am actually enjoying the knitting.
That’s called bliss!!! 🙂 I love the way you’ve perfected the logistics of knitting with a sleeping baby on your chest 😀
Hooray! I thought I was the only person who believes in second breakfast! It really is the most important meal of the day 😀
great minds think alike 🙂
I only saw the first part of your comment on my screen and meant to answer “second breakfast is the most important meal of the day” and when I clicked on it, there it was already.
Hahaha! That was pretty much my catchphrase a few years ago, when I was working 9-5 and needed second breakfast to get me through the morning! 😀
Definitely not my cat chasing the yarn as it goes through my fingers! It’s nice when she sits with me quietly though
I know what you mean 😀 That’s nice 🙂
A rainy, lazy Sunday. A comfy armchair. TV series on Netflix. An always warm cup of milky tea with cookies. A pattern that keeps my interest on but with not much thought. And NO phones!
Ahhh what a bliss! I agree with everything. Yes, yes, yes, and yes 😀
A cup of tea, a slice of home made chocolate cake, a good audio book to listen to and a hot water bottle pressed against my lower back and I’m in heaven 🙂
Ahhh yes chocolate cake!!! Perfect picture!
A really good knitting bag, so I don’t get the yarn caught up on my slippers/ankles when I get up!! Needs to be smooth so the yarn can rooll, and have a pocket for crochet hook (for dropped stitches), markers, etc. I’ve got the coffee, radio, TV, etc already!!
I hear you about a knitting bag. I’ve been meaning to design one for myself specifically to avoid all the issues you mentioned. I’ll let you know if I end up making one for myself 😀
Sitting knitting while listening to Football on the radio on a saturday afternoon – that is my idea of absolute heaven (especially if West Ham United are winning!). 🙂
Perfect Saturday afternoon! I love football too. I should try this some time. 😀
I’m a quilter, but the third thing would be my cat keeping me company.
Excellent! Quilting is one of my favourite crafts (sorry I didn’t mention it in my list). I am a very beginner but I absolutely love doing it. 🙂
A nice bit of cheesecake, some good tea, and a marathon of one of my favorite TV series. That combination also churns out a LOT of knitted items!
The perfect productivity formula! 😀
Beads!
Love beads! One of the things I want to learn how to do is knit with beads. I found this cool pattern that I would like to try soon. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ice-queen
Do you have a favourite pattern with beads?
Oh, I have so many! If you can find a copy of “Knit One, Bead Too” that is the book I used to learn. It isn’t hard at all, and it is addicting. I love the patterns of Laura Nelkin Designs, and have knit many of her necklaces and a few earrings. And of course, shawls are a great place to use beads. They are all over ravelry as you probably know. I checked out Ice Queen, and added it to my queue – it is so pretty! I have just the yarn and beads for it. 🙂
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing. I’ll look for the book for sure. 🙂 It’s so exciting to learn new things and see them come alive right under your needles 🙂
A good book if it’s a simple project, a good audio book if it’s a slightly more complicated project, a cat to leave hairs to be removed later, but cozies up the whole endeavor, and a pot of tea will do me just fine, thank you. 😉
Excellent 🙂 I like listening to something too. Sometimes it’s movie I listen to haha 😀 It’s hard to watch when I’m knitting but I listen to the story
This time of year it’s tulips, coffee and The Avett Brothers and Cloud Cult.
Perfect! 🙂
Great question! I totally agree with your list … And my magic ingredients would be a dog curled up asleep at my feet plus a fabulous sea view through the window (that’s wishful thinking but it would be perfect!) 🙂
This is definitely a perfect picture 🙂
Cup of coffee, tv on (movie or just for sound), laptop on the side, another WIP for if i get bored with current WIP and pattern if needed.. i know it’s a lot, maybe that’s why i knit/crochet at snail pace 😉
That’s great. I like how you think ahead and secure a back-up WIP. That’s brilliant! 😀
hmm…. coffee/tea/wine, a good audiobook or tv show or movie. And a kitty on my lap (miss mine). Maybe even a dog.
Sounds perfect 🙂
Kinda does 😉
Love this! I have nominated you for an award, check out my page https://mybeautifultruthblog.wordpress.com & good luck! X
Thank you! I’ll check it out asap. 😀
A bit dull, but for me the ? = no work hanging over my head, then this is a guilt free joy
Not full at all. I know exactly what you mean. Great point!
Netflix and wine usually 🙂
Good combination 😉
A day without interruptions would be so nice.
I hear you! Wouldn’t that be nice ahh 🙂
Netflix and a wide open agenda book page
Perfect 🙂
Twin Peaks!! Definitely! 🙂 Or any other good show on Netflix 😉
Sounds great )
I love a cozy chair!
This one is a must 🙂
A nice warm beverage (coffee or Scottish blend black tea) in my favorite handmade alpaca mug!
Perfect! 🙂
I could go with all of your choices but I also like to crochet with a Hockey game on TV or the radio and my son learning to count by helping me to count stitches or holding my balls of yarn for me while I wind them.
This is so sweet 🙂 What a great team effort and learning experience 🙂
Can’t watch tv & crochet so a good radio drama/podcast, a cup of tea & my trusty spaniel companion:)
I know exactly what you mean. I’m the same way 🙂
a cup of tea and a calm cat (not playing with my yarn).
That sounds great. Yes, I agree about the cat not playing with the yarn lol
Uninterrupted viewing of a film – I have two young children so it doesn’t happen very often 🙂
YES! I know exactly what you mean 😀
Time! That seems to be the biggest thing holding me back from knitting bliss.
I hear you! I’m in the same boat 🙂
Home 💗
Yes yes yes 🏠
I choose tea and “Murder, She Wrote”… Although I could be tempted to tuck into a tasty craft beer once the sun is over the yard arm 😉 I had so much fun reading through everyone else’s suggestions too!
Great choice! 🙂
I’d add a nice audio book like a Jane Austen Etc…. Just to play in the back ground.
Perfect! That’s a great choice
I’d like to sit ‘n knit all day long,
next to bright sunshiny window in a room with a view! 🙂 ♥ ❤
yes, yes, and yes! 🙂 I love it!
Thank you for the share ❤
My pleasure! 🙂 ♥ ❤
1. Coffee. 2. An old movie on TV or Netflix. 3. (if I had a pet) my cat or dog curled up at my feet. 4. Birds singing outside. 5. An afghan I’d knitted earlier (or inherited from a talented ancestor) keeping my lap warm, if needed.
Aw so cosy and warm… doesn’t get better than that ❤ 🙂
I would probably say coffee! 🙂
Great choice. That would be one of the first things I would reach for 🙂
